SEVA Program & Application

Congratulations on your willingness to be of service to others! The goal of yoga is Self-Love and recognizing this Self in others. We are not speaking of your small neurotic self but of the Divinity that lives in your heart and in the heart of all. In Sanskrit, Shala means school and seva means selfless service. To serve others on their journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance is a noble task and in fact, is an essential and important aspect of your yoga practice. To be on the Shala Seva Team is an honor and a privilege.

We are looking for applicants who are sincere and enthusiastic about their growth and understand what it means to be on a team. Please read our guidelines carefully to see if this is a fit for you. Guidelines for Shala Seva Program

Two hours minimum work commitment is required in exchange for 30 yoga classes at $50 as well as discounts on retail and workshops. There is a four-week probationary period which includes two weeks of training and two weeks of service. The student must pay for the first two weeks of classes during training. Six training sessions are required within the first two weeks which must be one-hour minimum. Please give us at least two weeks' notice if you are unable to maintain your commitment to the program. Note: If the trainee is learning quickly and can train in a shorter amount of time, then this process can be speeded up.
